Phelps and Co.

Westboro Baptist Church has had a long reputation of being one of the most hateful and fanatical cults in recent memory, so much so that I would be hard pressed to find anyone who claims they are actually doing Gods work. If you want a good example of how religion can be used to promote hate, look no further.

I guess I’m a proud sinner in The US Marine Corps. I’d love to run these lost souls with a hummer. How can people be so lost???

I would say they are doing their god’s work. In fact, they are probably closer to the true spirit of Christianity than anyone. These people must have actually read the bible or something! They didn’t skip the nasty parts and only look at the good ones like the majority of churches do.

The problem I have with that, Draven, is that these guys are picking and choosing just as much as the other churches. They’re choosing the hate filled sections and leaving out the ‘love your neighbour’ ones. I’d rather a church be hypocritical by looking only at the good passages than looking only at the bad.

I agree with Nicole, now Proudsinner. You can’t just focus on one verse and not compare it with others. You have to look at scripture as a whole to get the entire message.
