I find the idea to legally reinforce reminding people that Christians founded this country kind of lacking. Christians only founded this country on the backs of Taoists, Real Americans, and Africans who worshiped a ton of different things. They would also need to be recognized.
And wouldn’t they have to recognize that Jefferson Bible? The one without all the political bullshit?

Picking and choosing which rules you want to follow isn’t representative of any religion. You have to look at the ‘rules’ as a whole and then make a decision based on the entirety.

What one should do and what one does aren’t always the same thing. I’ve known plenty of ‘Christians’ who pick and choose, and see nothing wrong with it. ‘Times change,’ they said. ‘Those parts don’t apply anymore.’
Truthfully, I don’t think decisions can be made based on the whole Bible. It’s too contradictory, mistranslated and outdated, making it necessary to ignore parts of it.
On the ‘Don’t Mess With Christmas, Fool’ resolution be the US congress, the thing reads like a circle jerk. Biggest=/=best, people. Just because you have the most sheep, doesn’t mean they’re the healthiest flock.
Rewrite history eh? Let’s look at the Declaration of Independence.

As for the ProudSinner’s comment, I partially agree. I think decisions can be made based on the whole bible, provided you have a good understanding of it. Mistranslated? Maybe verse here or there, I’ll give you that. But from what I’ve studied, even the parts that might be mistranslated don’t suddenly give the bible some kind of new meaning.
That’s why i said most of them were deists. And as for the wording, pay careful attention to the use of the word “Creator”. Notice the word “Their”. It doesn’t say “The” creator, for the specific reason that none of the founding fathers believed that any particular religion had more sway than the other. You read it only as a Christian document because you are in fact a Christian. I read it as what it is: a document that is neutral concerning the particular religious sensibilities of others.
OK, so they’re a bunch of deists who just happen to go to church? I’ll agree with you that they didn’t want to have one religion dominate though. I think that’s pretty evident in the whole ‘freedom of religion’ thing.

We’re just like “well it’s their prerogative, their laws, their religion…” when instead we should be screaming our asses of at them retards. I just get annoyed at religious people and then I sit in a corner and mutter to myself all evening. And then my g/f runs off with another dude.
